jTask is a client/server java task scheduler and services framework. It is useful for running java classes on a scheduled basis, with scheduling flexibility similar to the UNIX cron daemon, as well as running java background processes or servers in the same JVM to save on overhead and management. The application is split into two parts: a daemon that runs in the background and a front-end GUI that connects to the daemon via sockets.

The old version of jTask along with the documentation is still available here.
